IPhone 7 Rumors

The next iPhone, now in its tenth generation for the product line, will be introduced in September of this year.

Each year many design rumors, assumptions, and mock ups flood the media outlet. Leaked images have shown a larger camera hole on the chassis to be a significant upgrade. Further analysis of the new chassis is that the dimensions are slightly thinner. Rumors have indicated that Apple is aiming to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack. Others sources, for instance MacRumors, have speculated that the removal of the headphone jack provides more internal space, perhaps for a second speaker for stereo audio.

Even with this type of conjecture, the newest iPhone may possibly be similar to the current model. Granted, it may have the same screen size with curved metal unibody and curved glass edges. The latest leaked images show another new design, it was recently discovered to be an iPhone clone named Meizu Pro 6. Reported by BGR, a Chinese smartphone vendor, confirmed its own design for the upcoming device.

With its introduction of the Apple Watch in 2015, Apple used AMOLED technology for the first time. This technology is speculated to be prominent in the next flagship iPhone in 2017. Anyone can hazard a guess that this will be a completely new form factor with curved glass and body. Amidst these rumors from various sources, the predictions from KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo have stated.

“We expect the 2017 new iPhone model to adopt a structural design similar to that of iPhone 4/ 4s, meaning it will be equipped with glass on both the front and back sides, and a metal frame surrounded the edges. The difference is that the new model will likely come with a curved screen and curved glass casing, with other important features including a 5.8-inch AMOLED display, wireless charging, and more biometric recognitions (facial or iris). Given the curved design, the new model may look smaller than an existing 5.5-inch iPhone.”

Every two years Apple breathes new life in its iPhone product line. It is quite possible innovations predicted by Ming-Chi Kuo will bear fruit.
