Presently, wearable devices, such as smartwatches have become a hot consumer trend

This market has boomed, largely from the introduction of the Apple watch in 2015. The Apple Watch has joined the competition in fighting for a share of this growing smartwatch market. Here are a few of interest:

1. Samsung Gear S2

The second generation Samsung Gear S2 actually comes in three different versions: the standard Gear S2, the Gear S2 Classic and the Gear S2 3G. The Samsung Gear S2, is a new, redesigned classic design with a circular rotating bezel. The interface lets you navigate through notifications, apps and widgets quickly without covering the display. The Gear S2 can be personalized with custom watch faces to create a smartwatch that is uniquely your own.

2. Motorola’s second generation Moto 360 “Sport edition”

The Moto 360 Sport is based on the 42mm Moto 360 2 and can be purchased in orange, black or white. Bound with a silicone strap, a GPS chip packed inside for exercising, and a new display that is more easily visible during daylight.  The 2nd-gen Moto 360 is available now, starting at $299 for this 42mm model and starting at $349 for the 46mm.

3. TAG Heuer’s Carrera Connected

The brand Tag has a one hundred and fifty year legacy of watchmaking, its first smartwatch, the Tag Heuer Carrera Connected is a 46mm luxurious watch made with grade 2 titanium, covered in crystal sapphire with Intel and Google inside at a price tag of $ 1500.

Tag Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver said “To repeat tradition, you must know, you must understand and you must respect tradition but on top of this you must innovate. If you don’t innovate and you just repeat, you are ending up in a museum and people want to be connected to innovation and creativity.”

4. Huawei Watch

A simple stylistic watch, crafted with stainless steel, featuring iOS and Android compatibility. The full circle face display features a resolution of 400 x 400 and a pixel density of 286 pixels per inch. The screen is sharp, clear and easy to read. An ergonomic button with fine leather and stainless steel straps completes the look.

Like most smartwatches, pricing is dependent on strap and finish options you select. Prices are as follows:$ 349 for the stainless steel version with black leather strap;   $ 399 for the steel link band or steel mesh bracelet; $ 449 for the plated black watch with steel link band; $ 699 for the rose gold-plated stainless steel watch with alligator leather strap; and $ 799 for the rose gold-plated version with rose gold-plated link band.
